Introduction | Information
ARUBA

Aruba has been under Netherlands rule since the 17th century, except for a brief British intervention in the early 1800s. It achieved independence from the Netherlands Antilles in 1986, becoming an autonomous region of The Netherlands. Aruba is relatively young in terms of offshore status, having become an OFC in 1995. However, Aruba has learnt from the mistakes made by some of its Caribbean neighbours. From inception, Aruba has had the strict anti-money laundering laws demanded by countries like the USA, with the flexible legislation required by investors.
