Introduction | Information
BERMUDA

Bermuda is one of the original offshore centres, having commenced its insurance industry in the early 1950s. Whilst many other offshore jurisdictions have been hit by waves of scandal, Bermuda has always kept its nose clean, and its regulations tight. For example, the word ‘offshore’ is mentioned nowhere in its legislation (instead the sanitary ‘non-resident’ is preferred), and no foreign or international banking licences are ever granted, instead its three local banks serve all local needs. For its trouble, Bermuda has a squeaky-clean and very sober reputation - only serious investors need apply!
