Newsletter | Articles ![]() The Isle of Man Aviation Registry has now submitted its proposed Scheme of Charges for the licensing and registration of an aircraft. The consultation period closed on February 21 and the charges, which are competitive, have now been submitted to the Island’s Treasury, prior to going before the Island’s parliament, Tynwald in April. The Scheme of Charges will come into force on May 1, the same date as the Air Navigation (Isle of Man) Order 2007. The scale of charges has been pitched at a level where it directly competes with other jurisdictions which register light aircraft. For example, the basic fee for the registration of an aircraft and the issue of its registration certificate is just GBP55/USD108: the additional amount for registering an out-of-sequence registration mark (cherished number) is GBP100/USD196, which is hundreds of dollars lower than most other jurisdictions.
