Newsletter | Articles Strengths of the Isle of Man Showcased at a Swiss Seminar The Family Wealth Management Seminar, organised by Campden Conferences and sponsored by Isle of Man Finance, was held on January 31 at the Hotel du Rhône. ILS Group Chief Executive Chris Eaton was a key speaker at the event, following an invitation, for the second year in a row, from Isle of Man Finance. He addressed the seminar on Isle of Man Companies and Trusts. The half day event, attended by more than 100 leading family wealth management professionals from Europe, highlighted how the Isle of Man (IOM) has delivered on its promise of introducing both the zero tax strategy and the jurisdiction’s Companies Act 2006, which together put it at the forefront of European domiciles for the establishment and servicing of companies. Chris said: “The attendees’ level of interest this year was at a more intense level. This seemed to reflect what the Isle of Man has done in the last year in respect of the introduction of the zero per cent tax regime and the IOM Companies Act 2006. There was also heightened interest in our super yacht registry and the forthcoming aircraft register. “One professional attendee from the UK said they thought they needed to attend the conference this year as their clients were asking them questions about the Isle of Man, which they couldn’t answer, and they felt they needed to increase their knowledge.” The IOM is seen as a key player in attracting wealthy individuals and their investments owing to its key legislative updates.
