The Piraeus office of International law firm Stephenson Harwood, has been appointed to receive ship documentation such as bills of sale and mortgage deeds on behalf of the Isle of Man Ship Registry making transactions more timely and convenient for ship-owners. Piraeus Managing Partner, Nigel Bowen-Morris said, “Stephenson Harwood has over a decade of experience in Piraeus. It is the maritime capital of Greece and consequently home to many ship owners. We act for ship owners, charterers and trading companies, shipyards and ship finance banks. We provide a variety of services ranging from charterparties to bills of lading, ship finance to shipbuilding and offshore construction, marine insurance and much more.” Stephenson Harwood is undoubtedly recognised as one of the leading international teams of shipping specialists and has received various awards in the industry including the “Ship Finance Team of the Year” award from Lloyds Shipping Economist. ILS Fiduciaries (IOM) Limited already has a close working relationship with both the Stephenson Harwood and the Isle of Man Shipping Registry. ILS works in conjunction with Stephenson Harwood to provide the corporate structure, vessel registration and set up and administration of finance packages required by new and existing clients in respect of their vessel and shipping requirements. ILS currently provides vessel registration services including the structuring and establishment of a corporate vehicle; a successful structure can include the incorporation of a 2006 Isle of Man Company whose shares are held by an Isle of Man Purpose Trust, thus providing the client with a secure and efficient solution. ILS can also provide the representative manager of a vessel, officers of the company, statutory certificate of yacht registration, assistance with VAT registration, the establishment of bank accounts, preparation of operating agreements and administration services. With focus being placed on Greece as a key region by the Isle of Man Ship Registry, the recent appointment will benefit both ILS’s new and existing clients requiring shipping finance and vessel registration packages. ILS believe that by working together with Stephenson Harwood, clients will receive a well organised and complete service package. For more information contact Alan Cable. |
